Nkotti François and His Music Career Nkotti François, popularly known as Nkotti Desto, was a prominent Cameroonian musician whose career was closely associated with the development and popularization of Makossa music. He began his professional career in the early 1970s in Douala, performing in local cabarets before becoming the lead singer of the Fantastic Boys. He later played a major role in the creation of Black Styl, a group that became influential in the Cameroonian music scene. As a singer, songwriter and performer, Nkotti François became known for his distinctive voice, energetic stage presence and ability to combine traditional Cameroonian influences with modern musical arrangements.
